Don’t underestimate foot and sole care. Remember that it’s your feet that carry you all day long. So make time and give them the right care. Let them rest, massage them, remove dead skin, hydrate them, and nourish their skin. How do you do it?

How to properly care for your soles and toenails

The foundation of foot care is consistency. Make time every day and apply foot cream to your soles. Once a week, treat your feet to a warm soak and remove dead skin. To remove dead skin, you can use a pumice stone, a foot file, a special pedicure razor, or an electric callus remover. A great solution is foot masks, which will do the work for you while you relax.

Once a week, also use a foot scrub. It not only removes dead skin cells, but also softens the skin on your soles.

Don’t forget regular toenail care either. First remove old polish, then trim your nails straight across with scissors or clippers so they don’t become ingrown. Use a nail file for the final shaping. Don’t cut the cuticles—just gently push them back toward the nail bed.

Special foot care

  • Regularly apply a moisturizing gel to your feet and soles, such as aloe gel. It gives your feet hydration and nourishment, and it’s also great for soothing skin after sun exposure or shaving. You can find our selection HERE
  • After a demanding day at work when you didn’t even sit down, or after an all-day trip, treat your feet to a warm soak.
  • Try a sheet foot mask that removes dead skin, nourishes, and softens your soles. How do you use this kind of mask? First wash and dry your feet, then apply the mask (wrap your feet in the sheet). Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes, and for better results, massage your soles. The nourishing liquid in the sheet mask will absorb into the skin more effectively. Finally, remove the sheets from your feet. Your soles will be soft, nourished, and hydrated.
  • Don’t underestimate choosing the right footwear, and in summer try to go barefoot sometimes. You’ll see your feet will appreciate it.
